The Glass House

Promoting design thinking as a way to transform education.

The Philip Johnson Glass House, a National Trust for Historic Preservation property, along with AIANY and the Catalan Center at NYU, hosted a Design Literacy Retreat focused on the future of education in the United States and the role design might play. 8PTS was asked to design the 32-page report which documents the new ideas and proposals generated by prominent cultural, business, design and education leaders who seek to transform our country’s educational challenges into opportunities.

We used an intricate grid structure and a meaningful color palette tied to the culturally significant location to inspire readers to consider new and innovative ideas about the future of education.

8PTS helped strategically review the large amount of exploratory content generated by the retreat and provided a clear structure for organizing and editing the content to communicate a compelling story to attendees and future stakeholders. Pulling out key questions and using striking photographs as the backdrop, 8PTS created a powerful, yet clear structure and story for the event synopsis.

We used an intricate grid structure and a meaningful color palette tied to the culturally significant location to generate an engaging call to action for readers inspiring them to consider new and innovative ideas about the future of education.
